12 Tags of 2015 - August Tag Challenge - Amira's Tags

Hi Crafty Friends!

As you may know, August is Tim Holtz Month in Aunty Vera Land and we're celebrating with big discounts on Tim Holtz products, give-aways....and a Tim Tag Challenge!

The challenge goes like this.........
Get inspired by watching Tim's tutorial.......... create your own August Tag using Tim's as a guide....and either email pics of your tag to us at or upload them direct to our facebook group. Winners (by random draw) will be announced the 1st September (Sydney, Australia time)

{ The boring fine print: by emailing your pics or posting them on our page, you give us permission to use them in a blog post at the end of the challenge }

Our Team Designers are busy behind the scenes creating their own tags to inspire you, and today we are showcasing Amira's tag.

Hello and Welcome to Aunty Vera's August Tag Challenge.

You will find the tutorial to play along with us here

I really REALLY enjoyed this month's tag.
As usual, I made 2. One to keep and one to swap.
Here is the one I have made to keep:

It is personal because it has a picture of my Nanna and my Mom.

I love the way my Nanna is looking up at my Mom here. Very Sweet.

Here are some of my embellishments close-up:

I love this tag because it has the names of cities in Egypt where my parents were born and raised.

So since this tag was very personal, I made a second one to swap:

Can you guess the name of this famous person?

I will give you a clue with the embellishments I used:

She is from the UK and is associated with a lantern.

I love these air-mail ephemera from times of old. Very appropriate for the era she lived in.

And also saw some dark times in history, so I thought this quote was appropriate for her.

So here are my two tags side by side:

Two very different tags. Love them both!!

Can't wait to see what you guys come up with for this month's challenge.

Did you guys guess who my famous person was?
Let me know in the comments below.
Happy crafting..

Thank you Amira for taking the challenge!

You can find more of Amira's August tags (and monthly tags) on her blog Handmade in Oz.

Happy tagging!
Aunty Vera :)
