Explore 2018! - Jeanne's "Road Trip Adventure" Greeting Card & matching Rolodex Card

Hello Crafty Friends!
Our kits are full of fun goodies that co-ordinate so well together - but that doesn't mean you can't add pieces from your stash that suit the theme.... that way you get the most out of the kit AND use some of the supplies you've been hoarding (you don't feel so bad about buying more craft supplies when you know you've used up some of your existing stash lol)
Today Jeanne does a bit of mix and matching as she creates an adorable Adventure card... and matching rolodex card.....

I'm back again crafty friends!! This week I decided to "mix" things up a little! I absolutely love when I can mix and match paper collections and they tend go together so well. So I made this fun greeting card w/ matching Rolodex card.

Aside from using (1) one of the papers from the January 2018 Monthly Kit , I have added (1) one of the papers from Jen Hadfield called Simple Life  and one of the matching cut outs as well. (I've added this link so you are able to see what the paper pad looks like incase you like it or would like to view the rest of the papers)
I also used the super cute Ken Oliver Vintage embellishments and also the Kaisercraft Stamp Set.

I started by cutting some white card stock from my stash. I cut it at 5.5 X 11 & scored it in half. I then cut one of the pieces of paper from the Jen Hadfield collection (sample photo below) I decided on this instead of the yellow/blue flower print in the above photo.  I then used score tape to adhere it to my card stock. I didn't want to cover up the entire bottom sheet so I then cut the yellow/white striped one on the above photo at 3.5 - 4 inches. Then adhered it also with score tape.

After I adhered the paper I realized I had forgotten to add my twine that I had picked out to hang my compass charm from. So instead of freaking my self out and panicking, I just measured and cut a piece to run from one side to another. I adhered it using my Recollections mixed media wet glue which I love using for textures like this. I added some on the compass too.

After I had adhered the twine with the compass, I added some round pop dots on the Jen Hadfield bicycle die cut from my stash. Before adhering it I cut one of the scrap borders that I had cut off one of the  Star Gazer papers from the Jan kit. I use any and all scrap paper when I can and these borders from the paper are super cute to use!! Then I went ahead and adhered the bicycle die cut.

I then had some adorable packaged flowers from Prima that I decided would look great on this project. So I trimmed them to and I added a piece of twine around the stem of the flowers. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry adhesive to glue this down but added some hot glue to reinforce it down.
I then used the stamp set from the kit to stamp "Road Trip" on white card stock and then stamped on the inside as well. I also added the rest of the scrap border to the inside of the card just for added embellishing.

I then wanted to make a little something extra with some of the remaining scrap paper, so I decided on a Rolodex Card using scraps from this kit and a die cut from the Jen Hadfield collection as well as some washi tape from my stash. I made my own template for Rolodex card, traced the template on cards stock and just added paper , die cut and and washi tape.

I hope that you like what I came up with this week. I will see you all next week. Thanks for reading my post today.
