NSD 2019 Challenge - Wendy's Pop Out Photo Card

Hello Crafty Friends!
I love interactive crafty projects.... and this pop out photo card from Team Wendy is a brilliant addition for your time capsule!

Hello Everyone,

I have another little project that I'm sure you are all going to enjoy. When I had finished this project, I found myself playing with it quite a lot...the child in me coming out!...LOL

So for this part of the challenge I will be showing you how to make a POP OUT PHOTO CARD as another fun fun element you can add to your Flat Pack Time Capsule.

To start off, you will need pretty sturdy paper (I do suggest a nice thickness of cardboard, that won't bend or wobble too much). The sizes you will need are: One piece 23.5cm x 5.5cm, one piece 20cm x 2cm and the last piece a rectangle 5cm x 4cm.

I start with the largest piece 23.5cm x 5.5cm and fold it in half. Then score a line either side of the center fold at 0.75cm. Then fold on all of the score lines so you end up with an 'M' looking shape in the center. This gives you a little room when folded because your brad will be close to the center fold.

Then grab the piece 20cm x 2cm and score at the 8cm mark and fold.

When you fold your piece on the 8cm mark, you need to make a small triangle shape at the folded end by bringing one corner across so the sides match each other.

When you have made a triangle fold at the folded end, you have to open it up and fold the triangle shape to the center of the strip. The pictures below show this step at two different angels.

You then place a brad on the top smaller triangle shape, as shown below and then this is attached to the largest stip for the pulley to work.

The 4cm x 5cm rectangle is then glued to the top strip of the pulley. The picture below shows the completed inside look of the pop out.Place a small strip of double-sided tape on either side of the longest pulley strip, making sure the strip won't come into contact with the tape. This is to hold down the front part of the cover. I also place a smaller piece of coloured cardboard over the front of the pop out as decoration (this is optional).

I cut a photo to size and glued it on top of the rectangle, so this is what you see when you pull the tab and your project is finished. You can decorate it however you like on the front...I wrote the words 'Peek-a-Boo'.

Above is the Pop Out Cards I made for my grandchildren and the covered the front with a cardboard piece in their favourite colours.

The video shows my process for making the Pop Out Photo Card

This project was so much fun to make and we all had so much enjoyment playing with it before I attached it inside the time capsule booklets.

So, why not try make one for yourself and if you do, I'd love to see a picture of it in the Crafty Vera and Friends facebook Group.

Please don't forget - to be eligible for the draw your challenge entry must be posted in my special Challenge Album in our facebook group

It's a Brand New Day - Donna's Interactive Card

Hello Crafty Friends!
Donna has another super cool card for us today. I LOVE interactive cards... I can play with them for hours. Seriously!!

Hi all,
I have another project to show you for Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft and January's It's a Brand New Day Theme..Aunty Vera gave us three Core Products and the Creative Team chose their add ons..

I love this paper Coffee from Echo Park HERE and with the gorgeous

Eileen Hull - Credit Card Sleeve & Tags  add on I chose

I created a card that you can interact with..
All the parts ...

Using washie tape join the two frames together as shown and cut out from your choice of paper..

Cut Two pieces white cardstock at 4 inches x 7 1/4 inches
Score at 1 inch and 1 1/2 inch both ends of the two pieces..
Cut a journalling card as shown to adhere to the middle as shown approx 4 1/4 inch x 4 inch.

I measured down 7/8th inch..

I then measured the front of the other piece of cardstock 7/8 inch and taped the large frame with washie tape as shown..

Cut it out.. The mat is 4 1/4 inch x 4 inch.

Cover the front of the other piece of cardstock as shown..
Cut two pieces at 0.7/8 inch x 3 7/8 inch
Cut two strips at 0.3/8 inch x 4 inch
Adhere the frame as well.

Fold front of card as shown with the valley and mountain folds..

Cut two pieces of acetate at 2 inches x 1/4 inch and adhere as shown, place tea cup and tea pot on the end of the acetate strip..

Adhere the two pieces together.

Top view of the card..

Now to decorate, this was from the

Echo Park - Coffee - Die-cuts - Ephemera

I painted some glitter and Nuvo Crystal glaze on the card in different places..

The Finished Card.. You can push the two end towards the middle and the tea pot looks like it is pouring out tea over the cup.. Really cool but couldn't take a pic and hold it lol..

NOTE:
I brought this Marianne Design Craftable Passe-Partout rectangle die off the net and as I was playing with it today, I thought I wonder if it would be any good for that card I made and guess what YEP !! it fits perfectly with the eileen-hull-credit-card-sleeve-tags

Before..

With the die frame, I chose red to make it stand out ... I love it.. What do you think..

I Hope I have
Inspired you to Create

Love & Art - Rianna's Guest Designer Project Share - Shaker Pear

Hello Crafty Friends!
We're still squeezing in projects for you because or month of Love & Art has been such fun.... and because YOU dear Crafty Friends are our Main Squeeze!! (lol)
Today Rianna joins us with a fun shaker card featuring one of those hilarious and cute die-cuts from the Main Squeeze ephemera pack.........

Hi everyone,

Rianna here on the blog today! I am so excited to show you another project that I made for this month of "Love and Art" for Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft! 😊

I apologise for the terrible photo quality. 😞 No video today, but I have a lot of photos to show you all.

First I cut my card base at 8 1/2 by 5 1/2 inch and scored and folded at 4 1/4 inch.

I then cut out the background at 4 1/4 by 5 1/2 inch and I used 2 rectangle dies to cut out the frame ( 4 1/8 x 5 3/8" and 3 1/2 x 4 3/4" ) which is a die set called A2 Rectangle STAX Set 1 made by My Favorite Things. I used Crate Paper's Heart Day Dreamy patterned paper for the background and frame.

I cut out some acetate for the shaker window at 4 by 5 1/2 inch.

I used some 1/4 inch Scor Tape to adhere the background onto the card base and the acetate window behind the frame.

I added some 3D Foam Strips to the back of the frame and went around the inside edges with my EK Success powder tool to remove the stickiness so my sequins won't get stuck to the sides.

I added some pretty iridescent sequins in pink and green and then adhered the frame onto the card base.

I used Scor Tape to adhere the cute pair of pears which is from Crate Paper's Main Squeeze ephemera pack.

I decided to add some shimmer to the tiny love hearts, pears cheeks and leaves with my Wink of Stella clear brush pen.

And here is the finished card! 😄
