I'm Not Afraid - Linda's Halloween Mini Album

Hello Crafty Friends!
BOO!!! (lol) Can you believe how fast this month has gone? SCARY!!!
Today we bring you our final Halloween project for the month - our Guest Designer Linda has created a special Halloween mini album ........ just too spookily cute!!

Happy Halloween everyone! This is the mini album I made using Echo Park's Hocus Pocus papers and other goodies from the October kit. Page styles used include a pocket page, a vertical flip page, a belly band & tag page, a vertical and horizontal flap page and a magnetic photo booklet page......

The photos don't show how sparkly it all is. After all, what's Halloween without a bit of sparkle?!

I will have a video walk-through on my Facebook page within the next couple of days. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the pics 🙂

xx Linda

I'm Not Afraid - Donna's Halloween Book Paper Clips

Hello Crafty Peeps!
Do you remember Donna's Halloween Book from last week? Today Donna shows us all the spooktabulous paper clips she made for her book. Yes. Spooktabulous!

Hi All,
I created these Halloween paperclips to use in my Halloween book..
Using items from the kit and fussy cutting these were a blast to do..
I love making paperclip art..

Three Lollipops with Nuvo Crystal glaze..

I love this paperclip that is twisted and chunky.. I will make more of these ones for sure..

Starry Nights, I mean how cute is this cat!!!

I thought this pumpkin could use some glitter and then went the whole hog and glittered
it all lol

I just watched a movie called House on the Hill, (creepy) and this reminded me so much of that house that I was nervous doing it lol.. My hubby asked what that round thing was? Why it's the moon I said, he looked at me like 'what!!'. Yep no imagination at all lol..

A tiny bulldog clip that keeps pages and flaps together. I just had to get a butterfly in the book somewhere hehe.

Pumpkin head on a spiderweb, yep it all makes sense somewhere..

A die cut spider on a dry embossed web on a tissue flower. A mix for sure..

They look wonderful together..

Can you see them all in the book.

I just love the heart paperclip on the cover and how gorgeous is that witch with the broom.. My darlin hubby whom I love to bits reckon its wrong to show you my vehicle. mmmm did I say I love him to bits lol..

I hope I have inspired you to create
 Glorious things...
Hugs
Donna xx

I'm Not Afraid - Sarah's Happy Haunt Album

Hello Crafty Friends!
Ooh! Sarah has been working on a secret spooky book project.... and here it is! Ripping the pages out of an old book and changing it into a Happy Haunt Book..... I am all love heart eyes!!!!

Hi everyone! One of the things I love making more than anything else is crafty books - whether they be junk journals, mini albums or even flip books. So when I saw the I'm Not Afraid kit I knew I needed to 'build-a-book'!

To start with I gutted an old hard cover novel. Using a scalpel, I cut the pages out and kept just the cover.

I then used cloth tape on the spine to help strengthen it before altering my cover.

Next it was time to get messy! Using some acrylic paint from my stash I painted the entire front cover this deep purple. I later used some sealer that rubbed away a little bit of the paint so that it left a sort of blotchy purple-red - perfect for halloween!

For the title I added some thickers to the bottom right corner. So shiny!

I then glitzed up the background by using some Nuvo Glimmer Paste with the Black Bats Stencil. It's such a beautiful plum colour and oh so sparkly!

I also added some of the glimmer paste to the thickers just to help it all blend together.

For the middle of the cover I used a Tim Holtz Broomstick with some wet glue strings to form cobwebs.

So how did the cover all come together? You'll have to wait till the end to see! But I can sneak peak this cute little charm I made using the Tim Holtz Glass Vials along with some sequins and chain from my collection. I hope Snape would be proud of my potions!

After my cover was complete it was time to assemble my pages. I used a simple hinge system to bind my pages - you can find lots of variations of this technique on YouTube. I used papers from the Hocus Pocus collection in the kit, some as plain pages and others as pockets.

You can see a pocket page here, with one of the tags I made in a previous post.

You can also use journaling cards from the collection like I did here. I simply matted some 3x4" cards on black card stock. They look fantastic sticking out of the pocket!

I then made another pocket spread with one of my previous tags.

And this is the bag of the book.

Now for the big reveal... the completed book! I added some black lace from my collection to the spine, as well as some green trim around the edge. I then attached the charm to the spine of the book using an eyelet. And that's this sparkly, Happy Haunt Album done!

You can check out a flip through of the album HERE
I hope you've enjoyed this project. Please share your creations with us!

Sarah xx

I'm Not Afraid - Donna's Halloween Book

Hello Crafty Friends!
I love it when Donna gets book creating.... her little books are always chock full of wonderful things to look at and oooh over! Check out her little concertina style Halloween flipbook.... inspired? I sure am!

Well it is still October and I am loving this kit from Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft..
I thought I would bring all the elements together in a book that I cased from

File Folder Mini Album Tutorial - Little Hot Tamale - Diy File Folder Flipbook  HERE

I could not buy the folders here in Tasmania that are the USA measurement or even the same tabs so I created one from scratch.. Let me tell you though when I folded it together I had bits hanging over, other bits too short and totally mixed up.. Needless to say even though I tried to do the same design mine ended up the wrong way around and bigger (nope do not know how that happened at all) lol..
Anyway it turned out wonderful if not like Little Hot Tamale's, she was like lets leave space and group things together and I'm like 'hey that looks too bare It needs something there and a bit there, oh and something else there' hehe..

Cover of the Book..
I love this little witch and I knew I just HAD to use that gorgeous broom so I made this the cover of the book. I adore the little ghost that came with the kit, cute, cute!! And I totally love the paperclip on top of the cover..

As you can see when it starts to unfold, You can just see all the lushiness inside..

I added this picture to show you all the glitter and sparkle that is right through the book, you may not see it on the photos but in real life this whole book shines..

Opened on the front inside..Lots to see.

Opened on the back inside and there is still lots more to see..

The book kind of folds like a concertina style..

I also have a video on YouTube to go more into detail of each page if you would like to check it out..

To see all the details go over to my blog where I give you the materials as well as photos of tags, pockets and the finer details.. HERE

I hope I have inspired
you to create
 Glorious things...
Hugs
