Happy New Year Cards - Donna's January Kit Project #2

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Weekend!

I hope you are all taking a bit of time this weekend to relax and perhaps get some crafting time.
Here's some inspiration for you - 3 fabulous cards from Donna using our January Kit.
Enjoy!........

Hello lovely people
I thought I would show you today 3 cards I created
I love creating cards, there is something totally relaxing
about taking a piece of paper, a flower and some bling and seeing what you can
create with it..
I had a few bits and bobs left over from my main project
and I thought yep lets make some cards...

KISS ME AT MIDNIGHT...

I totally loved the Elements paper from Simple Stories.. This
piece of paper alone gives you the basis to make at least 12 cards.
I wanted to use some stickers from Simple Stories, so thought these three
cards were the perfect choice to do so..
As you can see I also used the Nuvo Jewel Drops on the
word Kiss to give some dimension to the card..

I then mounted another sticker 'clock strikes midnight'
with 3D foam tape  and finished off the card with
flowers from Celebrate It Occasions flowers and a
bling centre from Kaiser..

And here is the card...

COUNTDOWN...

Loving the Elements, I chose 3.2.1 for this card and
thought the clock sticker would be perfect as an
embellishment.. I mounted it on 3D foam tape and placed in the corner with some Kindy Glitz around it (not quite dry as you can see here), with a brad
in the middle.. I also added Nuvo Jewel Drops
on the 4 for contrast.

For all the cards I wanted to use flowers so I fiddled
around until I was happy with the placements. This is what I
finished up with.. I like it.. On the side I added some more
stickers which I think are brilliant by the way..

And voila, the finished card...

HAPPY NEW YEAR...

For my final card and my final Element from the Elements page,
I created a card that says it all!!
Again I used 3D foam tape to mounted the sticker in a banner style and
placed a sticker behind the Element. (gotta love them stickers)

For this card I chose the larger flower from Prima and placed
Celebrate It Occasions flowers on each side of it..
To tie the flower together I added some Kindy Glitz
and a bling from KaiserCraft..

And here it is, my final card...

The 3 cards together.. Don't you just love the colours of this collection!!
And the Bazzill cardstock is so perfect:
Pink Lollipop, Candy Necklace and Easter Grass..

Have a brilliant New Year and
Happy Crafting...
Hugs

Get to Know our Creative Team - Donna's Crafting Goals for 2017

Hello Crafty Friends....... and welcome to a new series on our blog... Get to Know Our Creative Team where we ask our Team some crafty questions each month and let them give you an insight into their worlds. Today we continue our look at 2017 resolutions.... CRAFTY resolutions that is ;)
Yesterday Donna shared her first January project with so now let's take a peek into her craft room and see what she's planing for the year ahead
.

Oh my goodness, is it that time already?  Where has last year gone !!!

Can I make a confession, I still haven't completed last years resolutions, nearly but not quite.. So onward to this year, no looking back, nope, nada, eyes forward woman lol..

OK so my First Resolution is to:   Create more projects using mixed media.

I love mixed media projects and while I do create some things, I want to expand my knowledge and my mind, (and that could be a scary thing indeed), to really experience the true meaning of mixed media. I would love to take some classes in this and will be doing some research for them in the next month or two..

I have things in my stash that I have never even opened, but this is the year that I plan on trying everything that I own on my shelves (and in cupboards, bags, baskets and boxes) lol ...
......................................

My Second Resolution is to:  Organize and catalogue my stamps.

And the question WHY in shown in this photo...

And do you know the scary thing is, this is only some of my stamps. EEK!!  I so need a better system sighhh... Will keep you updated on this mammoth task..

..................................

My Third Resolution is to:    Improve my video tutorial technique..

Well this is not going to be easy, as I don't usually make videos, but Aunty Vera has told me in no certain terms that this is a part of my job, and I will NOT get on her bad side; NO way. Now how they turn out is another matter, but like they say, 'practice makes perfect', just might take a lot of practice lol..  My problem is that I talk too much and say things like so, 10 times in a sentence or umm or I even start a sentence and then change to another one half way through the first one..
I confuse myself lol..

....................................

My Fourth Resolution is to:   Create more off the page projects..

I find I make so many cards that I forget how much I love to create 'off the page' projects.. There are so many ideas up in this brain of mind that sometimes it gets jumbled up and what I do create is not what I planned at all.. Does that ever happen to you wonderful crafting people?.. I love taking that piece of cardstock or paper and turning it into something that is totally unexpected and exciting..

This thingy is one of my favourite projects I have created. I am not sure what it is exactly but it started with an idea of a hot air balloon and finished as this..
 .........................................
And my Fifth Resolution without doubt is: To learn a new technique every month..
I LOVE. LOVE learning new things, don't you!!  I mean WOW with the internet, we can learn anything or do anything.. And if it turns out like something from outta space or like one of our fur balls did it, who cares, and really who will see it but you. You can always throw it in the bin and start again; that is what is so wonderful about our passion, what could be a mistake could become a thing of beauty. You are not going to know unless you have a go...
I am about to embark on another crafting pathway with Aunty Vera, one in which I need to push myself to learn new ways of how I represent my work, and my ability to communicate them to you; the wonderful people who come to this blog to see what we, as a creative team can create from a delightful box of goodies...
........................................
So there it is in black and white (and a little bit of colour), My New Years Crafting Resolutions of 2017..  Oh the excitement of it all, so keep tuned to this site and keep checking that I am not slacking off and if I am, please give me a bit of a shake up to remind me to get back with it. After all there is much to do..
I wish you all a great crafting New Year and be safe out there people..
Hugs to you

CELEBRATION OF NEW YEARS CRAFT RESOLUTIONS - Donna's January Kit Project.

Hello Happy Crafters!
We're having such fun showing you our Creative Team's projects using the January Kit. Aren't the ladies just brilliant?!
Today we feature Donna's creation.... I'm sure you will be inspired!
Enjoy.......

Hello lovely people

Wishing you all a Happy New Year
and May it be Filled with Great Things..

I wanted something special to showcase Aunty Vera's January amazing kit this month
so  I created a book titled 'Celebration of New Years Craft Resolutions'
using the Simple Stories paper collection, my own stash and ALL the goodies
from the January Kit..

You can find the January Kit HERE.
I have used the Elements Paper, the Fireworks Sprays and the Fireworks Stencil as the MAJOR components for each page.

I cut the Elements Paper (from the January kit) into sections & have called them Elements paper for this show and tell hehe.

I started with the Cover, "This is your year to sparkle", but I didn't like how it turned out so I covered it up with the back of 'Kiss Me' Elements paper and added a windmill and trim. Now It comes together how I like it.

I used the  'Happy New Year' Element paper, misted Fireworks Spray in the corner, Used the Fireworks Stencil,  punched out three flowers cut them into a windmill shape, added some bling and streamers and Voila you have the Back of the Cover...

My Heading Page with the 'This Year' from the Element paper.. ''12 Months of Celebrating New Year Craft Resolutions''. Trim, Fireworks Spray and use of the Fireworks Stencil finishes off this page..

Page One 'January'...  'Get My Projects in on Time and Learn to Use YouTube Confidently". 'Raise Your Glass' Element paper & a flower and trim from Prima sets off the page nicely.  Fireworks Stencil and the Fireworks Sprays
give this page a finished look.

I looove the way the Fireworks Spray is so shiny, though the photos of the
actual project does not do justice to each page.. ..

Page Two 'February'... 'Organize & Catalogue my Stamps & Dies Which Will Take 12 Months'... Wow, what a mouthful to say out loud.. I love how the texture through
the Fireworks Stencil seem to come out from behind the 'Raise Your Glass' Elements paper and as you can see the Fireworks Spray seems to change colour on the Bazzill Pink cardstock to almost a milky white....

Page Three 'March'... 'Create Kits & Card Sets'. I love how this Prima flower ties in with the Count Down Elements paper on this page.. The Pearl Tart Fireworks Spray and  texture from the Fireworks Stencil are very subtle on this colour cardstock.

Page four 'April'... 'Do Not Buy New Craft Supplies', 'Use More OF My Craft Stash'.
I love how the fireworks diecut with a trim on top stands out with the Elements 'Awesome' paper and matches in with the textured Fireworks from the Fireworks Stencil and again the Fireworks Sprays have give this page a milky white look..

Page Five 'May'... 'Get Ahead With Birthday Cards For All Family & Friends'.
Again the textured fireworks from the Fireworks Stencil make the 'Cheers to the Year'
Element paper stand out. And the Fireworks Spray pops out on this page..

Page Six 'June'... 'Scrap More Photos For The Kids Scrap Books'. The Pink of the
'Best Year Ever' Elements paper gives this page a wonderful hue. The dots in the cogs are interesting as they are the Nuvo Jewel Drops, which changed colour when used with this colour cardstock.. The texture paste  Fireworks Stencil and the
Fireworks Sprays changes the colour of the cardstock completely.

Page Seven 'July'... 'Practice My Colouring With Watercolours and Copics'.
I Loooove the effects from the Fireworks Stencil and textured paste and the Trim is just plain wonderful.. I made a shaker star from the Simple Stories paper and used the Shaker Embellishments from Cheery Lynn Designs. 'Countdown' Element paper and Fireworks Sprays brings it all together..

As soon as I saw the Shaker Embellishments from Cheery Lynn Design,
I knew it was destined to be in a shaker on a page lol...

Page Eight 'August'... 'Create Journals For My Poetry And Stories'. 'Kiss Me at Midnight' Elements paper tied this page together nicely.. The black texture paste through the  Fireworks Stencil  and the Fireworks Sprays showcase the
Bazzill Candy Necklace cardstock to perfection..

Page Nine 'September'... 'Learn New Techniques Especially Mixed Media'.  I love this page as the 'This Year' Elements paper matches so well with the Fireworks Stencilled paste and the Fireworks Spray.  I used the streamers from Kaiser Crafts 'Fireworks and Streamers' die as strings for the balloons and a trim matches in perfectly sitting on a sticker shape.

Page Ten 'October'... 'Spring Clean And Destash The Studio'. What a combination!!
Bazzill Pink & Candy Necklace cardstock looks fantastic together.
'Raise Your Glass' Element Paper, Fireworks Spray and black texture paste Fireworks Stencil with  another shaker embellishment and yep! page is complete.

Page Eleven 'November'... 'Complete Christmas Cards And Projects'. Don't you just love how the 'Balloons' on the Elements paper and the Gold texture
Fireworks Stencil on the cardstock with the Firework Sprays bring this page together!!

Page Twelve 'December'... 'Have A Peaceful Christmas And Receive Lots Of Crafty Presents'. My Favourite page (and that is apart from the resolution lol); I used the negative of the Kaiser Craft Fireworks and Streamers Die and filled it in with all different coloured streamers.
A flower from Celebrate It Occasions Black & White and a Trim makes the page don't you think!!
'Cheers to the Year' Element paper, black texture paste Fireworks Stencil and of
course, the Fireworks Sprays kind of finishes the book with
a nice ending I reckon!!

Back Cover... My name and year is all that is needed with the 'Countdown' from the Elements paper, Oh! of course it wasn't complete without some Firework Spray from Fireworks Greenhouse by Imagine Crafts..  I love how the spray changes colours depending on the colour of the paper you are using..
(Check out Amira's project for a glimpse of what you can do with this stuff)

And Finally the  Finished Book..

I filmed the end result because the process of making
the book was a ' Work In Progress' with lots of
"changing my mind" lol.

New Product Showcase........ Prima Princesses

Hello Crafty Friends!

Do you remember Amira's fabulous Mixed Media project: Kiss Me at Midnight, featuring our January Kit? Here's a little refresher.....

Amira used one of her Prima Princesses stamps from her Stash as the focal point of her artwork.
Well, we were blown away and so just HAD to order in the new Princesses.

So far 3 have arrived.....

Madeline....

Claire...

Maia...

Aren't they just beautiful? And perfect for colouring!
These are quite large stamps (all about 11 x 17 cm) so they are really well suited to mixed media projects.
Hopefully their sisters will arrive soon!

Have a fabulous week ahead!
Aunty Vera :)
