Happy New Year Cards - Donna's January Kit Project #2

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Weekend!

I hope you are all taking a bit of time this weekend to relax and perhaps get some crafting time.
Here's some inspiration for you - 3 fabulous cards from Donna using our January Kit.
Enjoy!........

Hello lovely people
I thought I would show you today 3 cards I created
I love creating cards, there is something totally relaxing
about taking a piece of paper, a flower and some bling and seeing what you can
create with it..
I had a few bits and bobs left over from my main project
and I thought yep lets make some cards...

KISS ME AT MIDNIGHT...

I totally loved the Elements paper from Simple Stories.. This
piece of paper alone gives you the basis to make at least 12 cards.
I wanted to use some stickers from Simple Stories, so thought these three
cards were the perfect choice to do so..
As you can see I also used the Nuvo Jewel Drops on the
word Kiss to give some dimension to the card..

I then mounted another sticker 'clock strikes midnight'
with 3D foam tape  and finished off the card with
flowers from Celebrate It Occasions flowers and a
bling centre from Kaiser..

And here is the card...

COUNTDOWN...

Loving the Elements, I chose 3.2.1 for this card and
thought the clock sticker would be perfect as an
embellishment.. I mounted it on 3D foam tape and placed in the corner with some Kindy Glitz around it (not quite dry as you can see here), with a brad
in the middle.. I also added Nuvo Jewel Drops
on the 4 for contrast.

For all the cards I wanted to use flowers so I fiddled
around until I was happy with the placements. This is what I
finished up with.. I like it.. On the side I added some more
stickers which I think are brilliant by the way..

And voila, the finished card...

HAPPY NEW YEAR...

For my final card and my final Element from the Elements page,
I created a card that says it all!!
Again I used 3D foam tape to mounted the sticker in a banner style and
placed a sticker behind the Element. (gotta love them stickers)

For this card I chose the larger flower from Prima and placed
Celebrate It Occasions flowers on each side of it..
To tie the flower together I added some Kindy Glitz
and a bling from KaiserCraft..

And here it is, my final card...

The 3 cards together.. Don't you just love the colours of this collection!!
And the Bazzill cardstock is so perfect:
Pink Lollipop, Candy Necklace and Easter Grass..

Have a brilliant New Year and
Happy Crafting...
Hugs

Get to Know our Creative Team - Donna's Crafting Goals for 2017

Hello Crafty Friends....... and welcome to a new series on our blog... Get to Know Our Creative Team where we ask our Team some crafty questions each month and let them give you an insight into their worlds. Today we continue our look at 2017 resolutions.... CRAFTY resolutions that is ;)
Yesterday Donna shared her first January project with so now let's take a peek into her craft room and see what she's planing for the year ahead
.

Oh my goodness, is it that time already?  Where has last year gone !!!

Can I make a confession, I still haven't completed last years resolutions, nearly but not quite.. So onward to this year, no looking back, nope, nada, eyes forward woman lol..

OK so my First Resolution is to:   Create more projects using mixed media.

I love mixed media projects and while I do create some things, I want to expand my knowledge and my mind, (and that could be a scary thing indeed), to really experience the true meaning of mixed media. I would love to take some classes in this and will be doing some research for them in the next month or two..

I have things in my stash that I have never even opened, but this is the year that I plan on trying everything that I own on my shelves (and in cupboards, bags, baskets and boxes) lol ...
......................................

My Second Resolution is to:  Organize and catalogue my stamps.

And the question WHY in shown in this photo...

And do you know the scary thing is, this is only some of my stamps. EEK!!  I so need a better system sighhh... Will keep you updated on this mammoth task..

..................................

My Third Resolution is to:    Improve my video tutorial technique..

Well this is not going to be easy, as I don't usually make videos, but Aunty Vera has told me in no certain terms that this is a part of my job, and I will NOT get on her bad side; NO way. Now how they turn out is another matter, but like they say, 'practice makes perfect', just might take a lot of practice lol..  My problem is that I talk too much and say things like so, 10 times in a sentence or umm or I even start a sentence and then change to another one half way through the first one..
I confuse myself lol..

....................................

My Fourth Resolution is to:   Create more off the page projects..

I find I make so many cards that I forget how much I love to create 'off the page' projects.. There are so many ideas up in this brain of mind that sometimes it gets jumbled up and what I do create is not what I planned at all.. Does that ever happen to you wonderful crafting people?.. I love taking that piece of cardstock or paper and turning it into something that is totally unexpected and exciting..

This thingy is one of my favourite projects I have created. I am not sure what it is exactly but it started with an idea of a hot air balloon and finished as this..
 .........................................
And my Fifth Resolution without doubt is: To learn a new technique every month..
I LOVE. LOVE learning new things, don't you!!  I mean WOW with the internet, we can learn anything or do anything.. And if it turns out like something from outta space or like one of our fur balls did it, who cares, and really who will see it but you. You can always throw it in the bin and start again; that is what is so wonderful about our passion, what could be a mistake could become a thing of beauty. You are not going to know unless you have a go...
I am about to embark on another crafting pathway with Aunty Vera, one in which I need to push myself to learn new ways of how I represent my work, and my ability to communicate them to you; the wonderful people who come to this blog to see what we, as a creative team can create from a delightful box of goodies...
........................................
So there it is in black and white (and a little bit of colour), My New Years Crafting Resolutions of 2017..  Oh the excitement of it all, so keep tuned to this site and keep checking that I am not slacking off and if I am, please give me a bit of a shake up to remind me to get back with it. After all there is much to do..
I wish you all a great crafting New Year and be safe out there people..
Hugs to you

Get to Know our Creative Team - Lolly's Crafting Goals 2017

Hello Crafty Friends....... and welcome to a new series on our blog... Get to Know Our Creative Team where we ask our Team some crafty questions each month and let them give you an insight into their worlds. Today we continue our look at 2017 resolutions.... CRAFTY resolutions that is ;)
Yesterday Lolly shared her first January project with so now let's take a peek into her craft room and see what she's planing for the year ahead....

With so many people making New Year's resolutions, it seems a great time to reflect on what my goals are for my crafting in 2017.  We plan and set goals in other areas of our lives, so why not in our crafting?  I find that when I set goals, I tend to work on (and reach) about half of them.  That may sound like a high failure rate, but if I hadn't set the goals, I wouldn't have reached any of them!  So what am I reaching for in 2017?

First, I will take more time to plan my crafts instead of hurriedly rushing about to get that next video out.

Second, I will make time to create something for myself at least every other month.   I made this journal for myself yesterday, and it was a delight to work on a project that didn't have to fit any pre-conceived notion of what a journal is "supposed" to be.

Third, I will plan to pay for at least one crafting class this year -- I want to keep learning and growing and never think I have "arrived."

Fourth, I will mail out more finished projects as random acts of kindness.

Fifth, I will plan every trip to the craft store and focus on my list of necessities rather than the new "cool" and popular craft.

2017 will be great, and I look forward to the challenges!

Best Year Ever: Lolly's January Project - Functional Art for 2017

Hello Crafty Friends!

Are you ready to be amazed at another of our Creative Team's projects?
Today Lolly shows us her creations using parts of our January Kit.
So grab a cuppa, sit down and enjoy.......

Welcome to a new year, full of new dreams and hopefully a new outlook.  Let's CELEBRATE!

I wanted to make a project that I could see throughout the year, so I knew it needed to be up on a wall.  However, I also wanted it to be slightly flexible and changeable, so that I could update it in upcoming years. I'm so happy with how this turned out, and it will be perfect for me to display my word for each year.  This year my word is BELIEVE!

But I have the flexibility of using a calendar instead of my word for each year:

And I'm loving the flexibility of the fireworks and confetti die!  I used all silver this time around:

The flowers from the kit work well together, along with items from my stash, to embellish the clip on the board:

I added some super fun fringe ribbon to the top and bottom:

It all came together for a fun and festive outlook on the BEST YEAR EVER!

I used Mod Podge to glue the Simple Stories paper to a clipboard, then embellished the clipboard with the Kaisercraft die cut fireworks (cut out on sparkly silver card stock), the Prima flowers, the Nuvo drops, and some items from my stash.

Come join in the fun and watch the entire process HERE

BUY Aunty Vera's MONTHLY BOXES HERE
Info:

So I embellished a clipboard for my design, using the Simple Stories paper pack in the creative team kit.

I also used the fireworks and confetti die from Kaisercraft -- how FUN!  You can't help but feel festive when using that die!

The flowers used on the clipboard clip are from Prima and Michaels brand and can be found here.

The Crystal Nuvo drops can be found here.

Thank you for joining me today!
