C is for Cookie - Tina's Recipe Album

Hello Crafty Friends!

We have such a fun month ahead as we take our crafting into the kitchen with Authentique's brilliant 'Ingredient' papers and other goodies chosen by our Creative Team.
So let's kick the month off with a fun recipe album from Tina. This album is so pretty and would make a beautiful gift for a kitchen friend!! (if you can part with it....lol)

Hello everyone, today I have a cute little recipe album that will make a great gift for someone who loves to cook.

I started by cutting the chipboard sheet in the measurements shown below.

Join two pieces of cardstock so that it is one piece measuring 5'' x  18 1/2''. The pieces do not have to be two exact pieces because it will be used to cover the chipboard. The placement of the joined papers won't matter ( unless it falls between the chipboard pieces which will make it difficult to fold) but I do try to have it on the back.

Glue the chipboard pieces to the paper. I used my Tim Holtz ruler as a spacer guide. A wooden ruler works well too.

Glue the pieces in this order as shown below.

Trim the four corners,

Next I cut four strips of the black cardstock at 1'' x 2''. Score at 1/2'' and fold along the scoreline

Glue the hinges on to the chipboard making sure to run your bone folder into the joint along the scoreline as you are gluing it down for easy folding.

Fold and glue all the outer edges in. Carefully fold along the joints until the album forms easily.

I added two Basic Grey Magnets on the inner front flap and the front of the album.

I covered the outside and inside with the papers from this month's theme.

To make the hinges for the pocket pages, cut three pieces of black card stock.
Piece one - 2 3/4'' x 2 1/2''
Piece two - 2 3/4'' x  2''
Piece three - 2 3/4 x 1 1/2''
Score all the pieces 1/2'' in on both sides as shown below.

Glue the three pieces on top of each other making sure to line up the center carefully so the pages sit evenly when attached.

Glue on to the album.

To make the pocket pages, cut six pieces of black cardstock  4 1/2'' x 5 7/8''. Score at 2 3/4 and at
5 1/2''.

Snip the corners off the smaller side and fold inwards then glue the 2 3/4'' side on to that creating the pocket.

Decorate the pocket pages with papers from the collection keeping in mind how the pages will sit (so the images will not be upside down). Add glue to the hinge and slip the pocket page on lining it up evenly. Do the same for all the pocket pages.

I used cut outs from the papers and some of the stickers to decorate all the pages.

For the inside pockets I made little recipe cards measuring 5'' x 4 '' score at 2 1/2'' and fold. Decorate with papers from the collection.

Inside the recipe cards.

Finally I decorated the outside and added two eyelets
on the top finishing it off with some ribbon from my stash.

I hope you enjoyed this little recipe album.
