Do You Remember - NSD 2020 - Gina's Ringbound mini album shaker page

Hi everyone today I am sharing a quick tutorial of how I made the shaker page in my ringbound mini album.

I started with the Jillibean circle shaped shaker die and I die cut the circle a few times on some blue cardstock from my stash.

I then die cut the Crate Paper Wild Heart Roar and the Crate Paper Wild Heart Daze papers which I layered on the top over a piece of acetate.

I added the gold stars and the pink gems from the Jillibean Soup Shaker Fill Bright Snow mix and stuck a picture of my children playing in the sand on one of our road trips in January over it.

I then die cut some butterflies using the same die set and stuck them on top with some bling from my stash for their bodies and at the bottom I added some flowers that I fussy cut from the Crate Paper Wild Heart Jungle paper.

On the back I stuck a picture of me and my kids at the beach and over that some die cuts from the Crate Paper Wild Heart Planted paper.

To complete it I added some chipboard hearts from the Crate Paper Wild Heart Chipboard Accents.

Thanks for following along and, if you haven't started yet, come on make a ringbound mini album. We have to win this!

Heart of Mine - Donna's Card Folder

Hi all,

Another project for AVSC which I so enjoyed creating that I should pay Aunty Vera for the honour of doing it lol..

Cut one piece of cardstock at 12 inches x 5 inches
Cut two pieces of cardstock at 5 3/4 inches x 2 3/4 inches

Score the large piece of cardstock at 5 1/2 inch and 6 1/2 inch

Score the pockets at 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch as shown on three sides only..
For the pockets, Cut two pieces of black cardstock at 4 1/2 inches x 2 inches and
two pieces of Love Notes cardstock at 5 1/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches..

NOTE: check the pattern before punching the two corners...

Cut the tabs off at the bottom..

It was here that I realised that the black was too strong for what I wanted to do so I changed it over to cream cardstock. (all the measurements are the same as above).

Round the corners both ends on the large piece of cardstock.

You can see where I now have a spare one lol.

I created a template for where I wanted the handle due to the thickness of the cardstocks.. ( paper's crooked on this photo lol)

I decided to create black mats under the gorgeous papers to make them pop more..

Cut four pieces of black cardstock at 4 3/4 inches x 5 1/4 inches, round the corners,
and one piece at 4 3/4 inches x 3/4 inch.
Cut four pieces of Love Notes cardstock at 4 1/2 inches x 5 inches and one piece
at 4 1/2 inches x 1/2 inch.
(AND I forgot to take a photo of these steps lol)

For the pockets, Cut two pieces of black cardstock at 4 1/2 inches x 2 inches and
two pieces of Love Notes cardstock at 5 1/4 inches x 1 3/4 inches..

NOTE: check the pattern before punching the two corners...

I used this little journal card as the focus piece on my shaker front.

I added die cut notes and a sticker on the front of the acetate which is framed by Label Seventeen (Spellbinder Nestabilities),

I found this rose in a scrap bag and used it on the corner.

I only have white seam binding so decided to dye it a pinkish red..

On a plastic sheet rub some ink and spray with water.. Also spray the seam binding to make it easier to soak up the colour and remember it will dry lighter..  You might have to do this several times, even putting ink to the seam binding if you want it darker.. Dry it completely..
(I used Abandoned Coral and Aged Mahogany Distress Inks..)

The one I did above with a Vintage Photo ink.

Inside the Card Folder. And a quick look at what is going into the Folder..

The finished Card Folder..

Stars in The Bright Sky - Donna's Shaker Box

Hi all,
Don't you just love creating things for Christmas, I do for sure..
BE WARNED: A heavy photo post..
Well with the wonderful papers I had from Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft, I knew this
was going to be a delight to do..
I have had this wooden ornament for a couple of years and as I decided I was only going to do
'off the page' items for my Creative Team projects, this was perfect.
I gave it a coat of Gesso and let it dry..

It was a hard choice for the papers as I really like them all.. I cut out the back and with the front frame I distressed and sanded it to give it a bit more interest, then I adhered the back to the ornament to make a shadow box.. (don't add the top frame as yet).

By this stage I knew I was going to make it into a shaker box so twisted
these little snowflakes out ready..
(I am keeping the waste as a stencil for a future project)..

I painted the tree and reindeer with Distress Inks. I then added thick Gesso for snow.

Now I love Glitter with snow and that is exactly what I sprinkled in this while still wet..
I cut out a little fence and placed it behind the deer and added some stickers from the sticker sheet that came with the Away In A Manger Collection..

I also added little bells and tiny balls. Once I was happy with all the things I wanted in this box,
(I sprinkled white glitter on the bottom and the tiny snowflakes I prepared earlier) I then placed acetate on the front then the patterned frame to give me a shaker box..

Isn't that washi tape just gorgeous !! And that Noel sticker fitted perfectly with 3D foam tape.

'While up above in beauty bright' from the clipping Christmas stickers was perfect for this box.

I had these hearts left over from the Filigree Ornaments I created earlier, so I decided to use three hearts popped up with 3D foam tape on each side. I added some gold glitter and a little bit of snow for contrast..

This shaker box measures at 5 3/4 inches x 5 3/4 inches, I also added washi tape around the box and tiny bits of snow around the edges.

The finished shaker box with a gold star to hide the hook and ribbon..

Love these little buttons and thought they would be perfect as Christmas tree decorations..

The shaker box can also stand on its own which is how I will use it..

The little Christmas Tree full of home decorations..

I placed some lights behind the box just to see if would work.. It did but I wasn't too keen on it at all, though saying that this looks heaps better in 'real' life than the picture...

I hope I have inspired you
to create glorious things.

Stars in the Bright Sky - Gina's Nativity Shaker

I love December and I love Christmas. There is always so much happening this month and I enjoy every moment of it. It's no different here in Aunty Vera land with all the creative team coming together to share our projects this month.

I wanted to use the beautiful Clear Scraps Snowflake shaker shape for my first project. To start I painted the outside of all the pieces black.

I then covered the base with the back of the Echo Park Away in a Manger Border Strips paper. I wanted the star to be in the middle.

Next I fussy cut some of the people and animals for the nativity scene from the Echo Park Away in a Manger Border Strips paper.

I stuck the animals on the base piece.

I added one layer of chipboard and then stuck one of the wise men and a shepherd on each side.

I stuck the next layer of chipboard over that and stuck Joseph, Mary and baby Jesus in the centre.

I then added some of the Jillibean Soup Bright Snow shaker mix and stuck the acetate piece on.

On the last piece of chipboard, I stuck the Echo Park Away in a Manger Love Floral paper and cut and filed it. I then stuck it on top of the acetate.

To finish it, I stuck one of the bows from my stash on the top and on the top left, I stuck the angel. I have coloured some parts of the angel with my Wink of Stella gold pen.

On the back I stuck another piece of ribbon so I can hang this on my tree.

Thank you for following along with me and I hope you have a wonderful month and a beautiful start to the new year. Till next time stay awesome!
