Dancing With The Beast - Sue's Halloween Zine

Project 3 – Halloween ’Zine

Materials Used;

Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween Snippets Ephemera Pack

Tim Holtz Distress Oxide  spray – Carved Pumpkin

Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink

A3 tea dyed paper for the zine base (this could be any size you wish)

For this project I used the Tim Holtz Idea-ology Halloween Snippets Ephemera Pack to create a zine

(a small personal magazine to copy and give to my friends).

The first step is to fold your paper, follow the photos below.

 Have the paper landscape.

Fold in half landscape.

Open the paper and turn portrait.

Fold in half portrait.

Open up the fold and fold from the bottom until the edge meets the middle fold.

Fold the other end down to meet the centre fold also.

Open up folds and turn landscape.  Cut along where the yellow line is.

Using both hands pinch the two sides as shown.  While folding down in half landscape push the sides to the middle.

You will see a cross form.

Begin to flatten and press together to form the book.

Now decorate the pages as you wish.  See below for some ideas using the Tim Holtz Idea-ology

Halloween Snippets Ephemera Pack and scrap vintage book pages.  The pages can also be decorated

using the Carved Pumpkin Tim Holtz Distress Oxide  spray and the Tim Holtz Black Soot Distress Ink.

Once finished you can photo copy and pass onto your friends as a small gift to celebrate Halloween.

Cheers and Happy Halloween.
