The Life Within The Seed - Donna's Easter Basket

Hello Crafty Friends!
Need more Easter basket inspiration? Today Donna shows us how to assemble - and then decorate - the cute Creative Expressions Easter Basket. It looks so beautiful once it's made up, decorated and filled with pretty Easter goodies......

Hi all,

April is here already and of course this means Easter and choccies...
I love Easter for the kids, with the little footprints on the floor and all the bits of fluffy tail bits that Easter Bunny leaves everywhere..

This month we have a wonderful lot of goodies from Aunty Vera and look at what this month's theme is called.. The Life Within The Seed!!. How appropriate for Easter..

I created this little Easter basket from the Kinetics - Easter Basket die from Creative Expressions..
You will need the three pieces of the die as shown in photo.

You will need to cut two of the bases and four of the baskets.

I lightly sprayed the basket pieces with the Distress Oxide Spray - Cracked Pistachio.

Adhere the two bases together as shown and place adhesive on the tabs and glue together to form a box,

Add adhesive to the basket bottoms and fold over into the box as shown.

Glue the the bottom tab of the basket under the box and add the sides which have had the handles cut off .. adhere the little tabs together on the handles.

Loop some ribbon and adhere in the space between the handles.. Pop two eggs on the sides using 3D foam tape..

With the back of the basket I simply inked around the wooden flourish with Distress Tea Dye ink and adhered with a small flower from my stash.

I die cut a white rabbit and egg, sponged a little ink onto it while still in the die and added it to the basket with 3D foam tape.. I die cut Happy Easter four times and adhered together with the pink layer on top and it was done..

A few Easter eggs and some little chicks and it was done.. How cute is this basket..

The Life Within the Seed - Wendy's Easter Baskets

Hello Crafty Friends!
Wendy has a brilliant project for us today - beautiful decorated Easter baskets. She suggests that these would be great for your kids or grandkids but I think I need one of these on my desk!

Hello Everyone,

Today I have an easy way to make your own Easter Baskets for your children or in my case for my grandchildren. On a recent shopping trip I managed to pick up some of these cardboard boxes from one of our local 'cheapo' stores. After seeing them, I thought they would look great decorated, adding some sort of handle and making up some Easter baskets from them.

Once I got them home, I couldn't wait to start decorating and creating!

WHAT I USED:
 *Pre-made box shown above
*White Gesso
*BoBunny selection of patterned papers
*Coloured cardboard
*Aunty Vera Easter Egg Washi Tape
*Brads (to hold handles on)
*Selection of Prima Flowers
*Cut out words from BoBunny Cottontail Pastel 12x12 Patterned Paper
*Celebrate Easter Chip Board Accents from Echo Park
*Distress Ink Brushed Corduroy
*Glue
*Outside In Easter Egg Stackables from Lawn Fawns

I started by giving the edges of the boxes a coat with some white gesso. I wasn't too fussed on leaving the craft coloured cardboard. I wanted a bit more of a crisper white around the edges so when the patterned papers were put on, the papers would be a focal background. I did end up doing two coats of gesso, so it wasn't so see through.

While the edges were drying, I traced the shape of the front and side of the box and made a template up so it was easier to cut the desired shapes from the BoBunny patterned papers. When cut I inked the edges with Distress ink - Brushed Corduroy.

I used PVA glue to adhere the cut patterned papers to the front, back and sides of the boxes. I used one cut piece of BoBunny patterned paper for one box. So the front and back have the same pattern and then the reverse of the paper was placed on the sides.

The box was starting to look like a basket but it needed a handle. I cut a one inch strip from the plain pastel coloured cardboard Aunty Vera had sent me but it was too plain! So, I placed a full length strip of Aunty Veras' Easter Egg Washi Tape right along the center of the handle...oh wow!...it made the handle pop...loved it! I used brads to attach the handles to the sides of the box and my Easter baskets started to come to life.

Then it was a matter of making the baskets look a little more festive. I decorated each basket differently using chip board pieces, prima flowers, some shape sprinkles from Doodlebug and some stickers from my own supplies.

As an added embellishment, I cut a few words from the BoBunny Cottontail Pastels 12x12 paper sheet and glued them to a small strip of pastel coloured cardboad and also placed them on the baskets. This paper would also make wonderful word embellishments for a garden or spring themed project, On the back of some baskets I used the egg shaped die cuts from Lawn Fawns Outside In Easter Egg Stackables Dies.

Each basket turned out so awesome and very festive for Easter. Below are a few pictures of the front and back of the baskets.

The video below shows the start to finish of the Easter Baskets in the making.

Hope you Enjoyed!

Hello Crafty Friends!
Baskets and Easter! They go together like rabbits and chocolate, yes?
Today Donna joins us with a sweet little basket that I am totally going to scraplift!!

Hi All,
Today I am here to show you this very simple Easter Basket which takes little time to make and is so much fun to do as well..

Don't forget I have a giveaway this month with one of my projects. To win it, all you need to do is comment on each project and at the end on the month I will draw a name out of the Easter Bunny Hat...  And remember, you must comment on all four projects for a chance to win the prize..

 Lets get started:
Cut a piece of cardstock @ 6 inches x 6 inches
score @ 2 inches and 4 inches, Turn the cardstock and
score again @ 2 inches and 4 inches.

Cut to the score lines only on two sides (opposite each other)..
Cut ten little mats (patterned cardstock) @ 1 7/8 inch x 1 7/8 inch, Eight for outside and two for inside.
Cut handle @ 10 inches x 1 inch Cardstock.
Cut mat (patterned cardstock) for handle @ 10 inches x 7/8 inch.
Ink all the edges.

Adhere the mats to the base cardstock as shown.

Fold up as shown, adhere the handle and add a mat to cover the join.
Do the same for both ends.

Love this Leaf ribbon and flowers which you can buy HERE at Aunty Vera's..

Doesn't it look gorgeous on the handle...

'Always be happy', how wonderful this would be and how lovely is
this little die cut from the kit.

Some tiny plastic eggs to place on my tree at Easter time.

The back of the basket again using a die cut from the kit..

This kit is just so darn gorgeous and the colours are beautiful.

I hope I have inspired you to create Glorious things..

Hello Crafty Friends!!

Starting off our week.... Donna's Easter Basket!

Well here we go again, Yah!! You get to see me waffle on
with this project for April 'The Bunny Trail'.
This is project # 1 The Easter Basket!!

How CUTE is this little basket, honestly!!

I fussy cut the Easter eggs both sides and adhered them together so you
can see them from both sides, a little bling and glitter to
finish them off nicely..

Isn't this leaf ribbon just gorgeous!!

The 'Mr Bunny' from Doodlebug is CUTE as.. And looks
wonderful as the main feature.. Did you notice the washi tape?

The back of the Easter Basket.. Though Easter is more of Australia's
Autumn, I really liked the tag and thought why not..
(just noticed the tag is a little off kilter lol)

I found these little chicks in my stash from years ago, (was actually looking for something else lol), and yelled "YES, Perfect" hehe..

So after it was finished, photos taken I was cleaning up when I spotted these gorgeous FLOWERS from the kit and mmm, I think I will add
 them to the leaf ribbon..

Finishes off the handle don't you think. I was really happy how this little
basket turned out and so colourful as well.
Totally 'Love' the paper..
