Let Them Eat Cake: Lolly's Shadowbox Frame

Hello Crafty Friends!

Isn't it wonderful to have an excuse for tea and cake every day?!! (lol)
Today Lolly upcycles a secondhand shadowbox frame to say........ Let Them Eat Cake!!

You never know what you will come across!  I went to my hairdresser for a trim, and she said she had some card stock she wanted to get rid of, along with a few other things.  One was a small shadowbox frame.   I went home and started working on it right away!  I made a cardboard back for it and covered it in the paper from the May Kit collection.

Then I stamped the lovely stacking teacup stamp from Kaisercraft three times, colored them, and fussy cut them like this:

Then I used some 3-D foam to give depth to the layers.

I found a lovely sentiment in the paper collection, so I cut that out and used a piece of white foam sheet and  pink card stock to die cut some tags.  I glued them all onto the back of the shadowbox, using two layers of the 3-D foam to make sure the stacking teacups came forward enough.  Some buttons and Swarovski crystals helped to accent it all.

I also cut out one of the paper's edge strip for the wonderful sentiment and glued half on top and bottom of the frame.  This photo is not very clear, but you get the idea.

And some close-ups.

But something was missing, so I glued some silicone lace to the inside top edge of the frame.

That did the trick!

This was another fun project using second hand items.   It turned out great!   If you'd like to see the closeup of the project, check out my video HERE.

Be sure and stop by Vera's shop and pick up a kit while they are available!
You can purchase a kit HERE.

Thank you for joining me today!
