Hello Crafty Friends!
What do little Easter Bunnies get up to at night time?
If you've ever wondered, then Sarah has the answer for you.....
Hello everyone! I'm so excited to share my next project with you today. I've been wanting to create a fairy garden jar for a while now, but this collection inspired me to do something a little different...
To start with I took this old pasta sauce jar to use as a base. I chose one that was nice and wide and cleaned the label off using eucalyptus oil.
Next, I started work on my cover for the jar. I measured the outside of the jar with a measuring tape and cut a piece of black cardstock to size.
Then came the decorating! I split the card stock in half, decorating one side as a daytime scene and the other as a night time one.
For the day time scene I used some patterned paper from the Hello Easter Collection as a background before cutting some bunny die cuts with the Cottage Cutz Rabbit Die. I put these in different positions at the bottom of the page and layered some Easter Grass Washi Tape on top. For the sentiment I used one of the Hello Easter Ephemera pieces and attached it using the We R Memory Keepers Twine.
Aren't the bunnies cute?! I inked around the lighter ones using the Clearly Kelly Dye Inks and highlighted the black bunny using a white gel pen.
For the night time scene I used the bunny die to create some negative space bunnies before cutting out a moon shape (I wish I had a die for that!) and making different sized holes for stars. This doesn't look like anything special yet, but the magic comes later!
With my two scenes complete, I decorated the top of the jar to hide the pasta sauce lid. Sticking down a paper doily, I then tied around the lip of the lid with the bakers twine and secured it in a little bow.
Finally, I stuck my scene on the outside of the jar, wrapping it all the way around and using some ribbon from my stash to make the seam look neater. Here is the day time scene on the jar. I think it's really sweet.
And here is where the fun part is! After waiting for night time to hit, I put a tea light candle into the jar to see what mischief the bunnies might be getting up to. Looks like they are having fun!
The night time scene looks so beautiful on my desk.
I hope you've liked this day to night project! Bye for now,
Sarah xx
