All the Leaves Are Brown Too - Suzanne's Autumn tags, file folder and bookmark

Hello Crafty Friends!
I so love our April Kit, and I adore the projects that our Team have been creating.
Today Suzanne creates a set of beautiful Autumn tags as well as a file folder filled with all sorts of goodies!
Read the post.... watch the video.... comment and tell us what you think... and you could be a winner!

At last it has started to cool down (just a little bit) and it's just a beautiful time of year to spend some time outdoors and experience all the gorgeous colours of Autumn.  In my first project I made some Autumn cards and my next project is adding on to this and all together it is going to form my giveaway for this month.

For this part of the project I made two large tags, a file folder with the cute little goodies and a bookmark

First of all I made some Autumn paper, not with my Gel plate, but with my distress oxides.  I used some Ranger Mixed Media Cardstock and several of the distress oxide colours to colour a whole sheet of the cardstock.  This cardstock can handles plenty of water so it is perfect for this kind of project.  I used one colour at a time and smooshed (its a real word) the distress ink pad onto my craft mat and spritzed it with water.  Then, dip the cardstock into the colour in random places.  Dry it off before moving onto the next colour.  You can add as many colours as you want and you will be able to create some very interesting patterns using this technique.

I used the yellows, oranges, mahogany and some peeled paint to create this piece of cardstock.

I cut a large tag from the distress oxide cardstock and a backing from the dots and stripes paper from the kit.  I also cut a coordinating piece of cardstock to go in the middle to give the tags lots of strength.

I fussy cut the little fox from the 3 x 4 cut-a-part and used the little sentiment from the bottom of the card

I die cut some Autumn leaves from the Gel prints using the lawn fawn dies from the kit

I arranged the leaves down the side and placed the fox and the sentiment.  I then used a cute little bird on a branch from the rub-ons sheet.  I added some raffia to the top of the tag.

For the second tag I used the little Gorjuss girl stamp called "Spring at last", but for this tag she is all about Autumn.

I stamped her onto some white cardstock, coloured her and fussy cut her out

I die cut some very small leaves (it took me forever)  from the Gel print papers and also a little bike from some red foiled cardstock.

I arranged the leaves on the cardstock

Here are all the leaves that have fallen from the trees

A close up of the tiny leaves

I then arranged the Gorjuss girl and her bike on top of the leaves.  I used the "Blessed" sentiment from the ephemera pack to the top of the tag and again added some raffia.

Next, I made a little file folder with the lovely papers from the April kit  and added some cute little goodies to the inside. I used a basket die and some little flowers on the front of the folder and a sentiment from the ephemera pack.

I used some of my dies to form pockets inside the folder

I then made an assortment of little goodies to add to the pockets using many of the rub ons and ephemera from the kit.

I made some little tags using the rub ons and a little pocket and bird tag and a little seed packet with a stamp set that I have.

I used the stamp from the April kit on some of the distress oxide cardstock.  I think the sentiment is perfect for this paper.  The little yellow envelope is full of Autumn leaves.

I used a stamp from my stash and created a small seed packet

Lastly, I made a bookmark with some dies that I have and used the dots and stripes paper from the April kit.  I layered each element with some stitched hills.  I first added the die cut sun and placed a stitched hill before adding the trees and another stitched hill before lastly adding the foxes.

I then added these pieces to the card box that I made earlier.

I had a lot of fun creating these pieces and am enjoying the April kit very much.  Thanks for having a look at my creations.  Don't forget that if you would like a chance to win this entire set of cards and tags and other bits, you need to comment on all of my blog posts in the month of April.  The comments you leave mean the world to all of the creative team girls.  We spend a considerable amount of time creating beautiful things each month to try and inspire you all.  I'm sure it  also means a lot to Aunty Vera who puts in all the effort to produce the blog for all of us to read.

See you soon with my next creation.
Bye for now.
