25 Days of Christmas 2015 - Day 4 - Recycled Christmas Cards

So....... I've been on a Secret Mision!

A while ago, my dear neighbour Maria gave me a bag of old cards. She was doing a big clean out of her drawers and cupboards and decided that she should stop stockpiling all her old greeting cards. So she gave them to me to pass on to the kids at our local school as craft material. I had another idea....... I thought wouldn't it be fun to chop up some of these cards, repurpose them, and make a new set of cards and gift tags out of them. Then give them back to Maria so she could use them. The ultimate recycling project!

With Christmas around the corner, I thought I'd start out with her old Christmas cards.
Sorry - I was so excited to get cutting and pasting that I forgot to take a photo of the original cards.
But here are the NEW cards and tags........

Here's a simple card using the teddy bear image from one of Maria's cards, some old Bo Bunny 'Elf Magic' paper and a sticker and embellie from my stash.........

The image on this card was already covered in glitter. I simply cut out the village and used a space themed paper as the night sky (those stars are silver foil.... the paper doesn't photograph very well) then stamped the 'silent night' with a stamp from  Stampin' Up .....

I had fun with this one! I just loved those bunnies posting their mail, so I cut them out and created a whole new background for them with white glitter card for the snowy ground, one of my Stampin' Up 'Jingle All The Way' dies for the trees on the hillsides, and fussy cut trees from Bo Bunny's 'Silver & Gold' for the big trees in the background.......

I had a whole lot of fun making the tags. So easy, using Kaisercraft's Nesting Tags die set. Add some ribbon, stickers, a bit of Bo Bunny Glitter Paste........ whatever is in your Christmas craft stash....... and super easy hand made tags. Here are a few of mine, showing front and back views......

I think my neighbour will love her new Upcycled Cards!
Tomorrow I'll show you the folio I made to put them all in.

Until then, happy crafting
Aunty Vera :)
