Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Friday!
We're heading into a long weekend in some parts of Australia....it's the Queen's Birthday Weekend so there has to be cake right? With tea and coffee? Absolutely!! And of course some time spent crafting.
Today Sarah creates coffee and tea themed pocket letters...... I love how they both turned out - totally different looks but the same lovely hot beverage thoughts! Makes you feel like making a cuppa doesn't it?
Hello everyone! I'm here today to share my first project using the gorgeous Coffee and Friends June Kit. After last month's fun with pocket page scrapping, I thought I'd start off this month with some pocket letters.
For the first letter I used this beautiful tea cup page from the Reminisce Coffee and Tea Paper Collection and cut it down to 3.5 x 4.5" pieces to fit the pocket page. I then added some glitter to the flower details on the cups - who doesn't love a bit of sparkle?!
I decided it would be fun to have some tea splashing out of the top cup so I used the Kaiser craft Splash Stencil with some watercolours to create some puddles spilling out of the tea cups.
When looking at the page the eye draws up the tea cups and down the splashes, so I finished off the page by adding a prima flower to the bottom and then trimming around the corner. I also added this cute 'Got Caffiene' sentiment from the sizzix coffee stamp and die set.
And that's the first pocket letter done - simple but oh so pretty!
For my second pocket letter I decided to use more of a coffee theme rather than the tea. I started with alternating vanilla and coffee vintage papers from the Bo Bunny Double Dot collection. Once again, I used the Kaisercraft stencil to create some splashes, but this time I used the DecoArt Texture Paste to create some dimension first before painting over the top with some watercolours.
For the bottom pockets I used one of the Multi craft Dimensional Stickers and added a stamp on top from the sizzix collection. I also added a strip of Coffee Time Washi Tape, which features super cute coffee cups in different colours.
I stamped the coffee cup stamp directly onto the Bo Bunny papers for the middle pocket and then painted it with watercolours.
For the top two corners I used some more of the Multicraft stickers. They have such great dimension and are a lovely embellishment on their own.
Finally, for the centre pocket at the top I created a shaker using the Neat & Tangled Coffee & Cream Sequins. I also added some little coffee cups using the tiniest stamp from the Sizzix Collection.
Here is this pocket letter finished.
I love how different two projects can look using the same products! Here are my two contrasting pocket letters side by side.
I hope you've enjoyed this project and are inspired to make something yourself with this kit.
Until next time - Sarah xx
