All the Leaves are Brown: Lolly's March Project #1

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's been raining every day for over a week here in Sydney, Australia.... autumn is really here!
Today Lolly shares her first project with our very autumnal March Kit.
Enjoy!!.....

I have to say that I surprised myself this time.  I don't usually make a set of cards.  Why?  Glad you asked!  :)    When I sold Close To My Heart (back when it was called D.O.T.S), that's about all I did -- stamping cards.  It got really, really old.  Everything was rubber stamping (pulls out hair).   I cringe when I think about making a card for someone, which is not a fun thing when you are, after all, a PAPER crafter.

Well,  I decided to make a set of cards for this month's project, but there's a method to my madness, which you won't know until I show you project TWO!   *insert diabolical laughter here*

First of all, this kit is so EASY to work with.  Ideas just flow rapidly with these items on my craft table.   Okay, let's get started!  Card one:

The above photo is the first card I made-- this cute but offset one.  Weird, huh?  I know, but I love it.  I used the Tim Holtz distress inks to sponge color over the leaf stencil. I love the translucent look.  Then I used a gold Decoart marker to outline the leaves.  It really made them POP!  I had some paper lace, which I also distressed, and some leaf gems, which I added to the paper leaves in the kit.  The washi is along the bottom, and the top row is a sliver of paper from the collection.  I love the cut apart cards in this paper collection; you'll see that I use them often!

Card two:

The second card I made may be my favorite.  I added a pocket to it with several layers of washi, paper, leaves from my stash, crocheted lace, and a button that I distressed.  The jute from the kit is perfect in that wooden button!

Card three:

The third card is very fun, too.  I used the pear background paper, layered  a card on top, and I used leaves from my stash, which I dabbed with the Nuvo Glitter paste -- WOW!  That really made them gorgeous.  Next, I added crochet lace to the bottom, but I wove some of the jute through the lace.  I love that look!

 Card four:

The fourth card is more simple but still fun.  I have a leaf and acorn stamp border that I used on the top of a layered card stock card.  I added two rows of trim at the bottom of the card, and on the cut apart card on the center, I added an eyelet with a dangle.

Card five:

The fifth card has a very glittery base!  I used the Nuvo glitter paste over the leaf stencil on a pumpkin colored card stock.  There is a forest green border on the bottom which I border punched, and two rows of trim.  I also added the tiny leaves from the kit and a ribbon flower embellishment.

Card six:

And lastly, card number six.  This is very fun -- it's a double pocket card with cards in each pocket.  Don't you just LOVE those gnomes?  I also added jute to the top of the card and attached a charm.  The large gnome on the pull out card is one of my newest digital creations.  I was thinking of a way to use him, when lo and behold, Vera sent me gnome paper!  WOOT!

If you'd like to see closeups of these cards, and a hint as to how I'm going to use them, you can watch the video HERE.

Thank you for taking a look at this delightful project!
