Hello Crafty Friends!
I love all the different techniques that are being showcased on our Creative Team's challenge projects! Today Sarah plays with stencils - so versatile!!
Hi friends! I hope you're all having a fun crafty month. I'm back today to share another technique with you all: stencilling. There's so many different ways to use stencils and I love all the different effects you can get from them. You can see on the stencilled pocket below from my May pocket spread the kinds of colours you can get through a stencil. For this page I used distress inks with the botanical dream stencil from the May kit to create this gorgeous psychedelic background.
Another way you can use stencils is to create layers with texture paste. Here I used a stencil from my stash with some texture paste to create the background on a journal cover.
I then painted over the top to make the stencilled flowers pop. You can see a close up here.
I couldn't resist using the beautiful stencil from the May kit on another project, so I decided to create a scrapbooking layout as a gift to my mum for Mother's Day. Starting with the point and shoot paper from the 'I'd Rather Be Crafting' collection, I used the stencil to create a background. I wanted to use some sprays from my stash, but as the wood grain was so dark I used some white paint first and then sprayed over the top.
I then decorated the page using some of these gorgeous Calacatta Prima flowers. They're so beautiful!
To balance the page I used this simple sentiment from the Simple Stories Crafty Girl stickers.
And that's this page done!
I hope you've enjoyed seeing the different ways you can use stencils in your projects.
