We Can Be Heroes - Donna's Super Gift

We're partying this month and having fun with Super Heroes. And you can't have a party without presents right? So check out Donna's SUPER (lol) puzzle box and comic book. WOW! BAM!

Oh brilliant, this month we are having a Super Heroes birthday party.. 

I love parties, don't you!! And one of the best things with a party is PREZZIES..
Yah I LOVE Prezzies; I love to feel them first then shake them and even smell them in case of yummy bathroom goodies.

'Thank You' for your gift, I am so excited to see what it is...

I recycled a box to cover with this paper from the kit. I simply inked all the edges and rubbed some Emerald Inka Gold randomly (only because I got some over the box to start with , so happy accident lol).. I love washie tape as you may be aware of, so I could not allow this box to go Un - Washi. Isn't this just so cute!!

I decided to use the Hulk chipboard and spray with a coat of the Heidi Swapp Color Shine Black.

I just had to use the wonderful washi tape around the top and bottom of the present..

(note: This does not stick well so you will need to use extra adhesive )
I placed the letter stickers on the bottom of the present to spell out puzzle..

Inside the present... OH Thank you so much, I had so much fun putting this together.  

This huge puzzle 12 x 9 only took me about 1 hour.. (Yep, so not a puzzle person) lol.. 

(note to self: give back to the kids, too hard lol)

oh and thank you for my comic book, I will enjoy reading this soooo much xx

Trick or Treat! - Suzanne's Halloween Mason Jar Candles

Are you looking for some fun decor ideas to spookify your home this Halloween?
Have a look at Suzanne's Mason Jar Candles. They are spookily brilliant!

This quick and easy project that I made from the October 'Trick or Treat' kit from Aunty Vera Scrap and Craft is one that only takes a few minutes but the end result looks really cool, especially when the lights have been turned out.

All you need is some orange tissue paper, the gorgeous Raven stamp from the October kit, a glass jar and some mod podge.

First, stamp your image onto the tissue paper using Ranger Archival ink.  I stamped the Raven three times onto the tissue paper.

I covered the glass jar with mod podge and placed the tissue paper very gently onto the jar.  I covered the bottom of the jar also.  Be very careful as the tissue paper rips easily. 

Tip the jar upside down and let it dry completely.

For the LOLs - Lolly Isn't Forgotten!

Have you been missing Lolly? This month has been full of postal debacles.... I can almost hear those awful postal services people LOLing...... but nothing as little as NO KIT was going to stop Lolly's fun! 

Yes, we have had a rare, unheard-of postal dilemma here.  My July Design Team kit got mishandled by the postal service somehow, and even the requisite chocolate bar did not do the trick to ransom this kit.  BUT!  All is not lost!  With a name like LOLLY, I have to participate in LOLs, right?  Am I right?  You betcha!

I saw that one of the fun things in the June kit is a set of emoji dies, so when I found that set in the store, I snatched it up so I could play along, too.  We are not defeated -- we are still Laughing Out Loud in July!

I wanted to make some bottlecap embellishments with my emojis, so I die cut them and assembled several.

I realized that the emoji are slightly smaller than what I need for bottle caps, so I mounted each one on a one inch circle of white card stock:

Then I decided to use Ice Resin, a two part epoxy resin that I haven't had time to play with. I've used another resin in the past, but it yellowed over time, and the Ice Resin is not supposed to yellow. SCORE!

However, I forgot a mistake I've made in the past -- when coating paper with any liquid that has a long drying time, I should seal that paper first!  And since I like to repeat my mistakes before I truly learn my lesson, I poured the Ice Resin over the paper emojis right away.  Sure enough, the Ice Resin soaked through the poor emojis.  They definitely were NOT laughing out loud.

For my next set, I sealed all the emojis with two coats of Mod Podge, let them dry well, and THEN I poured in the Ice Resin.  You can see the difference between the ones on the left and the ones on the right!  These are made with the exact same papers, so you can see the difference in color and clarity between the sets.

My favorite emoji is the one with the sunglasses, and you can see I played with different colors here.  How cool is that?

Since I love the sunglasses so much, I made a SHAKER (yes, I adore shakers!)  with an eyeglass shaker set I found on clearance somewhere, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away . .
.

And that eyeglass shaker is so COOL that I thought I'd share this with you, just for the LOLs:

For the LOLs - Three Awesome Cards from Suzanne

Today Suzanne shares her fabulous cards. They're so happy and fun!!

Hi everyone.  Well this month the kit is such a lot of fun with that incredible Emoji love paper.  I just had to make some fun cards with it.  I hope you enjoy them.

The first two cards are very simple, but I think they are really fun. 

CARD 1

The first card I made using the Vertical elements page and I used the lovely 4 x 6 with the beautiful colourful stripes and the three 'Happies' going down the page. I trimmed this 4 x 6 cut- apart a little on each side because I layered it on another 4 x 6 cut apart with the black and white frame around the outside.  Then I simple added the word 'birthday' to the bottom of the 'happies' using a kaisercraft letter die.  I cut out three emoji faces with the spellbinder die from the July kit, coloured them with the Distress Oxide ink (fossilised amber) also from the July kit, and popped them on top of the 'happies' with a little foam tape to pop them up.  Then I put some pink enamel dots from my stash in the top left corner and the bottom right corner.  I layered this all on a pink card base.

CARD 2

The second card I made is very simple also.  I used the 'we go together' 6 x 4 cut-apart.  This one is so fun, I just had to use it for a card.  I layered the 'we go together' 4 x 6 on top of a piece of black cardstock and then on a pink card base.  I then stickled that poop and put some glossy accents on the eyes before I added some of the Copper coloured sequins from the sequin ribbon to add a bit of a pop to the poop card.

CARD 3

The next card was such fun to make.  I used a square piece of white card stock and the BoBunny stamp, along with the distress oxide and some low tack tape.  I taped off a half inch area all around the outside of the white card stock and coloured it with fossilised amber distress oxide ink from the July kit.  Then I stamped the small circle stamp from the BoBunny stamp set from the kit on top of the coloured section so that it resembled lots of tiny emoji faces.

 I then used tumbled glass distress ink to colour the rest of the white cardstock.

After that was finished I cut out and coloured quite a few emoji's.  I also used the smaller circle die to cut out black and red cardstock so that it could be used to colour the parts that are cut out of the faces (eyes, mouth, etc)  and blue cardstock to cut out tears.

After that I used my gumball machine die from Paper Roses to cut out a gumball machine.  I cut it several times so that I had some dimension and so that I could add emoji faces inside the gumball machine as if they were gumballs.  I made the gumball holder as I would a shaker card but I secured each emoji face with foam tape so that they didn't move around.

I then coloured the gumball machine with some of my Inka Gold paint so that it took on the shine of a real gumball machine and added the gumball machine to the left hand side of the card.  On the right side I added some emoji's that have escaped the gumball machine  along with some of the speech bubbles from one of the pages.
