Happy Australia Day 2019!

From all the Team here in Aunty Vera Land, we wish all our Aussie Friends (and our overseas Honorary Aussies) a very Happy Australia Day!

It's been horribly hot this summer so Bill has plans to spend the day in his favourite summertime location - inside the freezer! Cause that's where the ice cream is.
Please note - this is NOT a sponsored post!!! (LOL)

In the meantime, Scraption Man has just returned from a very long vacation.... so you would expect him to get straight into work, right? Nope. Seems he has lost some of his work ethic in his travels and I've been told he'll get back to packing and parcelling after a weekend of barbeques and cool beverages......

And from our Team....

If you've watched any of my videos, you've probably realized that I'm not originally from Australia but I've been lucky enough to call Australia my home for 8 years now and I wouldn't have it any other way. For us Australia Day is always a day we spend as a family. Because we all love water we either spend it by the river or at the beach. This year we are in India for Australia Day. Coincidentally the 26th is Republic Day in India. Here are some pics from last year.

That's me in AQWA. The rays have to be my favourite of all the fish. I find them so majestic and beautiful.

My children enjoying one of the boat rides at Hillarys Boat Harbour where we spent the day. How much they have grown in one year.

Mmmmm ice-cream because you can't not have ice-cream on a hot summer day, especially if you have kids :)

Me trying to get some crafting done before we left.

On Australia Day, I like to remember how lucky I am to be here and how much I love this beautiful land and it's people. I've lived in a lot of places and never really settled in any of them, but here I've found my home.
Happy Australia Day Everyone! Cheers!

Hi all,
Australia Day is here YAH!!
My goodness another year and again we celebrate what it means to be an Australian..
To me it means Family, Caring, Acceptance and lately Heat lol...
I love Australia..

My granddaughter Charlie who loves these glasses and blowing whistles lol

Astaria who like Charlie thinks nothing of wearing gumboots in 38 degrees heat lol..

This is what my granddaughter Aimee and her friends are doing..
Have you all noticed my grass the kids are standing on?? That my friends is my front lawn; yes I repeat my front lawn. We are on tank water in the bush and since it has been so hot it has killed most of my grass and flowers though it doesn't stop the older ones from sitting on the veranda having a beverage or two lol..

At my daughters pool which is happening a lot lately, and little Emmie is not sure if she likes it or not.. Charlie loves her pool floatie lol.

And when not at the pool then at the beach. I love this photo even if Astaria's half butt is showing lol
(she is just like her dad).. Charlie wh

Where is your hat??

And just because, here are a couple of fun facts..

1. Pub With No Beer, by Slim Dusty was the first Australian international number one. It was also the first single to go Gold... (Yah go Country Music)

2. Men At Work, 1983 were the first Australian group to win a Grammy award. They had a number one single and a number one album in America at the same time..

3. The first university was opened in Australia in Sydney in 1850. It wasn't until 1881 that the university of Adelaide was the first university to allow women to study..

Have a wonderful Australia Day..
Slip, Slop, Slap

Huge hugs
Donna xx

Hello Everyone,

This will be my very first post on this blog and I want to start by wishing everyone a very happy and safe Australia Day, 2019. I absolutely love our country and wouldn't want to live anywhere else in the world.

This year will be a quiet day for both my husband and myself until we join the rest of our family in the evening for a family bar-b-que. So, I will be taking this quiet day and making it a day to finally do some sorting, cleaning and destashing in my art/craft room. I think it desperately needs it. I have a very bad habit of throwing everything on the floor after I have used it.

So, however you choose to celebrate Australia Day, have fun, enjoy, take care because I know I will be doing all of the above in my own little part of our country, my room!

Wendy Mason xx

Happy Australia Day to all our wonderful Australian and International friends.
I love everything about this country and my husband and I plan to travel the whole of Australia one day. Here are a few of my favorite places. We haven't had an Australia day together as a Family for the last 8 years as my husband travels to Germany every year for two weeks around the 22nd of January (23rd this year) for work, but we do try to take the kids on long country drives whenever we can.

The 12 Apostles on The Great Ocean Road. This is an old photo taken around 20 years ago.

The beautiful Murray River near Echuca. We used to camp along the Murray often when we were younger.

Wilsons Promontory.

And the spectacular Grampians National Park, another of our favorite place to go camping.

Mackenzie Falls.

When we are away my craft room buddies have the run of the house and sometimes they get up to a little mischief. Here they are celebrating Australia Day with a game of cricket  but they got a little side tracked when they found Thor's Hammer.

Happy Australia Day from all of us. xxx

Happy Australia Day to all.
Australia day for us will be spent at home but this is our neck of the woods and I am truly blessed to enjoy this scenery every day.

We were fortunate to get some rain this summer so our dam is looking a lot healthier but as you can see the land is still dry.
Here are some of our sheep that have ventured over to see what that thing over my eye is (camera) and possible to see if I bought some food for them. (more likely)

From me and my family, especially the sheep we wish you all a very happy Australia Day and let's pray for some rain for all farmers everywhere.

Hi everyone,

Amira here to wish you all a wonderful Australia Day.

I thought I would update you all on what I've been doing over the past few months for me.

I have gone back to school (well college to be exact) and I am working on getting certified to go into the aged care sector.  I am specifically focusing on dementia and disability. I have about 6 weeks to go before I go on placement in March and then I very much look forward to starting a rewarding career in aged care.

It's going to be a very busy next couple of months!!

It has also been a great summer holidays! Having my boys home from school is always a blessing although I don't know how it happens, but the contents of my kitchen usually end up in the theatre in front of the playstation.
Hmmm interesting that - especially when there is a blanket "No eating in the theatre" rule!!

A member of our family has also had a bit of a pamper and just in time for Australia Day no less!

Before the pamper
A van show up in front of our house one day and Cadbri, my beautiful fluffy Birman, was treated to a lion cut.

How dare you!

Pom-pom on the tail and everything.

Have also spent a lot of time in the backyard this summer.
It has become my sanctuary!
This year, my bleeding heart Mary went into the ground between my 2 raised garden beds and she is looking magnificent!

I'm also growing zucchinis this year and they are coming along nicely!

This is my other cat Rusha

We are still graced with our noisy visitors every morning and evening

White Corella Parrot

Pink and grey Galah

And my frangipani tree is in full bloom and smells like I'm always on a tropical holiday.

I hope that wherever you are, you are healthy and happy and find the time to connect to what makes you whole and that you are surrounded by love and friendship.
Happy Australia Day - God bless you.

xxAmira

However you spend the day, we all wish you a happy, safe and very Aussie day!
xx Aunty Vera & Team xx
